This has got to be the best steering wheel ever.
Agree?
Disagree? Post your opinion of best steering wheel.

Just give me a basic suede Sparco 3-spoke.

Where'd the clutch pedal go?

I love it love it love it. I like the M6's wheel a little better though, for being less fussy.

Steering wheel is awesome, that gearshift looks funny though.

Make that the deep dish version of that, with quick release, then this would be the best wheel. Because race car.

Keep it simple, take the buttons off.

Yeah, the shift lights are a bit much for me.
The suede is nice, though.

I don't like it. Those modern BMW wheels just don't do it for me. The 3 spoke ones with the round centre bit are too reminiscent of MX-5 wheels which I don't like either.

But what about leds. Hell having leds in your steering wheel is just one more thing to break. Simple steering wheel is all one needs

Just kidding, the M4 steering wheel does look good!

THIS, I appreciate Toyota/Subaru for using a clean wheels straight from the factory. Since it's leather-lined there's literally no reason to swap it out IMO. Buttonless and leather is a winner

Hmm, those shift lights are right where I'd put my right hand...

It's cool, but I don't think it's the best wheel ever . That's a big claim and all it is is an fuzzy 3-spoke with led lights and carbon fiber bits, something Ferrari has been doing for over a decade.

Not sure what I consider best of all time , so I just picked a favorite out of a hat. I'm sorry, but there are simply too many greats to give the crown to something that pedestrian, no matter how cleanly executed. It's close to the perfect modern wheel - every detail in right proportion - perfect lines, but it bores the hell out of me. Take that and the fact I think the airbag abominates any modern wheel visually and just... no. Thank you but no.

Ciao Bella! That's one hell of a shape for a steering wheel.

That's a winner winner chicken dinner right there. Had some fun with the new M6 in Germany last summer and it was the first time I had tried out the new wheel. While the diameter is much larger than previous M wheels (think 135iM), it is absolutely beautiful and the rim is pleasantly thin. Not overly bulky, which means it's bucking the current trend of meaty steering wheels. I really enjoyed it.

That is the deep dish.

Does the yellow stripe at the top really help at all? I find that looks ridiculous anywhere but on a race track.
Other than that, I could go for that wheel in quite a few cars.
![]() 01/16/2014 at 20:48 |
|
Well it is a racing wheel. I'm sure you can get one without the stripe, but why?

How about some single-spoke Citroen wheels?
And just to show that they weren't all good...

I wasn't talking about that wheel specifically, but in general. Does the stripe actually make any difference? I can't say I've ever looked down at the wheel to work out if it's centred or not.
As for why I'd want it without the stripe, because I like it enough that I'd (hypothetically) put it in a road car.

That stripe is useful in race car, particularly if/when you hit something. It makes it much easier to determine if you bent something.

I have the same wheel on my 2014 328i MSport

Needs more buttons and stuff. Now start with this and replace the little monochrome lcd with a 7" full color HD monitor and we're talking.

Something simple and classy is more my style. Very tasteful and elegant chrome plated chain.

I don't understand why 3-spokers are so popular. Can't place your hand right at the inside bottom where it's nice and comfy. Not a fan of bolsters, either.

This has to be one of the tackiest interiors I've ever seen... The CF trim makes it look like someone went to pep boys with 200$ to spend on adhesive fake CF.
As for the wheel, I quite like it except for the leds. That's just... no...

It's pretty awesome, but look at the half of an iPad sticking out of the dash...

That's actually really good looking, but this is my favourite

Damn, for a car with an airbag that looks pretty sexy.
I still think I would prefer the Mtech 2 in my e30 though. Its the best BMW wheel

jus sayin

Agreed

also it makes it so you can be sure your wheels are straight when you pit. Lots of race cars have such big tires on them, that you cant't change the wheels with the tires turned.
